Resolution in Plenoptic Cameras
نویسندگان
چکیده
Derivation and analysis of sampling patterns of traditional and focused plenoptic cameras show the former rotates pixels π/2 in phase space, while the latter does not. These results are interpreted regarding the cameras’ spatial resolution. © 2009 Optical Society of America OCIS codes: (080.2730) Matrix methods in paraxial optics, (040.1490) Cameras.

Spatial analysis of discrete plenoptic sampling
Plenoptic cameras are intended to fully capture the light rays in a scene. Using this information, optical elements can be applied to a scene computationally rather than physically—allowing an infinite variety of pictures to be rendered after the fact from the same plenoptic data. Practical plenoptic cameras necessarily capture discrete samples of the plenoptic function, which together with the...
متن کاملSuper-Resolution in Plenoptic Cameras Using FPGAs
Plenoptic cameras are a new type of sensor that extend the possibilities of current commercial cameras allowing 3D refocusing or the capture of 3D depths. One of the limitations of plenoptic cameras is their limited spatial resolution. In this paper we describe a fast, specialized hardware implementation of a super-resolution algorithm for plenoptic cameras. The algorithm has been designed for ...

Plenoptic cameras, constructed with internal microlens arrays, capture both spatial and angular information, i.e., the full four-dimensional radiance, of a scene. The design of traditional plenoptic cameras assumes that each microlens image is completely defocused with respect to the image created by the main camera lens. As a result, only a single pixel in the final image is rendered from each...
متن کاملSingle lens 3D-camera with extended depth-of-field
Placing a micro lens array in front of an image sensor transforms a normal camera into a single lens 3D camera, which also allows the user to change the focus and the point of view after a picture has been taken. While the concept of such plenoptic cameras is known since 1908, only recently the increased computing power of low-cost hardware and the advances in micro lens array production, have ...
